To achieve greater focus in its charity work, Singapore Power set up a S$1-million Singapore Power Heartware Fund. It was launched at SP's 10th anniversary in Oct 05 by Trade & Industry Minister, Mr Lim Hng Kiang. The Singapore Power Heartware Fund helps the needy elderly a rapidly growing segment of our population.
The Singapore Power Heartware Fund sponsors the Home Help Service programmes which are managed by six voluntary welfare organizations, and supported by Community Chest.
The Home Help Service programmes provide the needy elderly with daily meals, assistance with personal care/hygiene, housekeeping, laundry service and transport service for medical check-ups. These essential services for the needy elderly living alone at home, or with care-givers, help them live independently within the community.
By underwriting all fund-raising costs, Singapore Power ensures that every dollar donated to the Singapore Power Heartware Fund goes to the beneficiaries. Since the launch of the Fund, the company has organised many fund-raising projects such as appeal mailers, staff pledge card donation drive, charity dinner concerts and charity golf tournaments.
Singapore Power hopes that its Singapore Power Heartware Fund will enable the needy elderly to live their twilight years with grace and dignity.

Community Chest awarded SP the Community Chest Platinum Award in 2008, in recognition of SP's strong dedication and contributions to this worthy cause.
